Gökhan received his degree for Marine Engineering from İstanbul Technical University. Due to his drive and dedication, Gökhan was able to secure a job aboard cargo ships following a 6-month internship. After years of transatlantic work, he transitioned to the yachting industry in 2014, to not only improve technical skills but English as well. Now aboard S/Y Clear Eyes, Gökhan uses his problem solving and language skills daily and is known for his warm smile and well-loved presence.
Chef Melis’ passion for the culinary arts has fuelled an impressive career in the cooking industry. After studying Public Relations, Media and Gastronomy in school, Melis began her profession in a hotel kitchen. She has built up her experience and knowledge since, working for a decade in a number of fine-dining restaurants. She specializes in Italian cuisine and pastries, as well as other
dishes across cultures.
Currently studying in a university in Madrid, Maya is working towards a dual degree in business administration and humanities. Before sailing, Maya worked in the tourism industry as a ski instructer, backcountry guide, she well as in private catering. Coming from Colorado, USA, she has always been interested in the boating industry and is thrilled with the opportunity to work aboard Clear Eyes for summer seasons. Aboard Maya works to refine her skills in service with a positive attitude and inquisitee nature.
Rida studied Marketing throughout university before becoming involved in the tourism industry, working in a hotel in Phuket. In 2021, she moved from her home in Thailand to continue to pursue her profession in the renowned yachting industry of Turkey. Rida’s hardworking demeanour and warm personality aided her aboard her first sailing yacht, where she remained for 2 years. Rida was embraced quickly by the Clear Eyes crew for her collaborative nature and is a wonderful addition to the team.
Captain Atalay has began his life’s journey on the sea in 1996, graduating from the Maritime Faculty of Kocaeli University. His first job was on a commercial ship as 3rd captain and GMDSS operator, a position he held for two years. He then worked as master on a 70 meter ro-ro ship on the Çanakkale Strait. His captain and dive master position on a charter yacht came with the launch of S/Y Peri in 2003, continued on the sistership S/Y Blue Eyes until 2012 starting from the construction of the vessel
On 2012 he has taken over Clear Eyes which belongs to the same owner
Captain Atalay has sailed along the length of the Mediterranean and throughout the
Aegean with his professional crew and is proud to be the head of a dedicated team, the effords of whom have combined to create a charter yacht renowned for its service excellence. Captain Atalay
holds Commercial Master, GMDSS GOC, ECDIS and DiveMaster certificates. He speaks fluent English.
